Cupcake Fundraiser for SMA Awareness Month!

August is Spinal Muscular Atrophy Awareness month and to celebrate our dear friends Brooke and Brielle, Izzy and I are holding another cupcake fundraiser… 

Cupcakes are available by the dozen for $25. Flavors available are chocolate cappuccino, strawberry with strawberry buttercream, vanilla and black forrest. We will make deliveries each weekend starting August 11th through the end of august. Special accommodations can be made with advanced notice.

Meritor Fundraiser Raises $2,875 for FSMA!

A dear friend I went to college with organized a Jeans Day, BBQ lunch and Ice Cream Social Fundraiser at her workplace, Meritor.

We made it there for the lunch festivities and even got to help out at the ice cream social.  Brielle decided she would like to help by shaking the rainbow sprinkles on the sundaes.  She did such a great job and really stuck with the task until the event was over.  She got real good drumming up business by yelling, “Ice cream, Ice cream… come and get some ice cream!”  Brooke helped shake some sprinkles too but she was more interested in rolling around the parking lot looking for puddles to roll through with her wheelchair.  :)  

We met so many wonderful people and I think having the girls there really helped bring awareness about SMA to many who had never heard of it before.  Thank you to everyone who supported and helped out with this fundraiser!

 

The Madagascar Hack! Rugger's Up and Under Golf Outing

The “Madagascar Hack” is back!

Proceeds benefit the SMA Gene Therapy program from Nationwide Children’s Hospital/Ohio State University in honor of Brooke and Brielle.

The golf outing will be held Saturday, June 9th at The Prairies Golf Club in Kalamazoo, MI.

We will have prizes, raffles and more!

Costs to play: $160 per foursome, includes dinner following at The Up and Under.

2nd Annual Rusty Rudder Golf Outing in North Carolina for FSMA in honor of Brooke and Brielle!

We were so excited to attend the 2nd Annual Rusty Rudder Golf Outing in Huntersville, NC at Skybrook Golf Course Sept 12, 2011.  It was a beautiful day and over 140 golfers showed up to support SMA research.

We stayed for a week to visit with “Aunt Ten” and kept busy every single day!  We would like to thank the Rusty Rudder for choosing Brooke and Brielle for their 2nd Annual Golf Outing and everyone who participated!  We had such a great time and enjoyed seeing all of our friends and meeting new ones!
